Paper Route To Tour With Owl City, Lights

It may seem an unlikely combo if you’ve ever heard Paper Route (undoubtedly you have heard Owl City), and indeed it is an odd match-up, but understandably so. With a style falling somewhere between the pop-punk rock sounds of Paramore (whom they previously toured with) and the electro-synth pop, Postal Service-like sounds of Owl City and Lights, it is difficult to find a perfect match for touring. Their programmed-rock sound feels like it would be more at home sharing the stage with the likes of Mute Math, but there are some benefits to touring with dissimilar artists. As a fairly young band, they need to stand out to get noticed, and having a drastically different sound is one way that will happen. The question is, will fans who come for the auto-tune electronic melodies of Owl City be drawn in by the alternative rock of Paper Route?
